LMDV - Large-scale Multi-Dimensional Visualization
|
|
Welcome! LMDV is a research project on large-scale multi-dimensional data visual exploration at UNC at Charlotte that generates public domain multi-dimensional visual exploration software that is free for research and educational purposes. Currently research on high dimensional visualization and its applications on image analysis, simulations, and broadcast video analysis is carried on in this project. LMDV is supported by the Southeast Regional Visual Analytics Center (SRVAC) project and an research internal funding from UNCC, and hopefully more funding from other sources.
Our MissionThe mission of LMDV is to promote the research and education on the grand challenge of exploring and deriving insights from large-scale multi-dimensional datasets to support problem-solving and decision-making in many application fields, such as bioinformatics, health analytics, finance analytics, simulations, image and video analysis.
Project MembersLMDV is lead by Prof. Jing Yang and her graduate students Tianyi Zhang, Dongning Luo, Scott Barlowe, Yujie Liu, and Yang Chen in the CS department of UNCC. Their collaborators both inside and outside UNCC also contribute a lot to this project.
HistoryLMDV originated from Xmdv, the project Jing Yang was working on when she was a PhD student in WPI under the advising of Dr. Matthew Ward and Dr. Elke Rendunsteiner. LMDV came to UNCC with Jing Yang when she got the assistant professor position in the Charlotte Visualization Center at UNCC.
