Mission: To develop and promote the science of visual analytics and to advance interactive visualization as an integrative discipline that is indispensable for attacking key real world applications.
Faculty: Dr. William Ribarsky, Bank of America Distinguished Chair

Future Computing Lab

    www.cs.uncc.edu/fcl
Mission: To shape the future of how we interact with computers.
Faculty: Dr. Larry Hodges, Computer Science Department Chair
                  Dr. Dale-Marie Wilson
                  Dr. Min Shin

Networking Research Lab

    www.cs.uncc.edu/nrl
Mission: To develop strategies for survivable wireless access. The overall scope of the research considers the following: multi-tier networks, including ad hoc and infrastructure-based architectures; multimedia traffic models; Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees; adaptive resource management algorithms; multi-layer strategies that span the physical layer through the applications layer; modeling and analysis using discrete-event simulation; using information visualization techniques for simulation analysis.
    Faculty: Teresa Dahlberg, Associate Professor
Principal Investigator for REU Site and Director of Diversity in IT Institute

Games + Learning Lab

Mission: To explore the creation, use, and study of games and game technologies. In this lab, scholars work together to better understand and build interactive technologies that inspire, teach, and connect people, while also exploring both human and machine learning in game environments.
Faculty: Dr. Tiffany Barnes, Assistant Professor
